Living Together In Harmony
Know Your Rights. Respect Others. Build a Safer, Stronger Community.
What This Program Includes
Living Together in Harmony (LTH)
Living Together in Harmony (LTH) is a community-based online discussion organized by Aurbina Scholars Hub (ASH) to create a safe, respectful, and welcoming space for refugees to learn, discuss, and share ideas about living responsibly and peacefully within the communities where they live.
The session focuses on five important areas: Law, Respect, Safety, Responsibility, and Community. Through an interactive discussion in the Rohingya language, participants will have an opportunity to better understand everyday responsibilities, respectful relationships with local communities, personal and community safety, and ways to respond appropriately when facing challenges or problems.
What?
Living Together in Harmony is a 1.5-hour online community discussion designed to promote awareness, mutual respect, responsibility, and peaceful coexistence.
The session will include discussion and practical examples related to:
- Understanding relevant Malaysian laws and everyday legal responsibilities
- Respecting local communities, cultures, and social norms
- Personal and community safety
- Responsibilities as a member of a community
- Appropriate ways to respond when facing problems or difficult situations
- Building respectful and positive relationships between refugee communities and the wider community
The session is intended to be participatory, allowing participants to listen, ask questions, share experiences, and learn from one another.
Why?
Refugees often live within communities with different languages, cultures, laws, and social expectations. Understanding these differences and knowing how to act responsibly can help reduce misunderstandings, improve safety, and support more respectful relationships.
ASH is organizing LTH to provide an accessible space where refugees can discuss these issues in their own language, ask questions without fear of judgment, and develop greater awareness of their responsibilities and the importance of respectful community life.
The program also aims to encourage participants to become more informed and responsible members of their communities while promoting peaceful coexistence and mutual understanding.
Who?
The program is organized by Aurbina Scholars Hub (ASH), a refugee-led grassroots community organization working to support education, learning, skills development, and community empowerment.
LTH is open to refugees from Malaysia and Bangladesh, and participation is open to all. No specific educational background or previous experience is required.
The session will be conducted in the Rohingya language to make the discussion easier to understand and more accessible to participants.

How?

The discussion will focus on practical understanding, including:
Law — Understanding relevant laws and everyday responsibilities.
Respect — Respecting people, cultures, communities, and differences.
Safety — Recognizing risks and taking steps to protect ourselves and others.
Responsibility — Understanding how individual actions can affect the wider community.
Community — Building positive relationships, cooperation, mutual understanding, and peaceful coexistence.
Participants will also discuss what they can do when they face problems or difficult situations and how they can seek appropriate help or respond responsibly.
Expected Outcomes
By the end of the session, participants are expected to:
- Have greater awareness of relevant laws and everyday responsibilities.
- Better understand the importance of respecting local communities and cultures.
